Grandson of composer Ryoichi Hattori and son of composer Katsuhisa Hattori, Takayuki Hattori started out his career as a music arranger for Masashi Sada before given his big break by being allowed to compose Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994), after Akira Ifukube turned down the oppurtinty. Hattori's body of work tends to be diverse, ranging from comedies like Welcome Back, Mr. McDonald (1997) to Toei's movie adaption of the GTO TV drama series.
