After graduating from Musashino Art University, Shimizu joined the creative studio DRAWING AND MANUAL. He creates animated and live action works using hand-drawn materials to form complex collages. His works include work for the NHK children's education programs “JAPANGLE”, “TAKE TECH” and “Q ~ philosophy for children~”, direction for the “Wednesday Campanella” identity visual, a variety of music videos for major and independent Japanese artists, TV commercials for JR East, web commercials for Toyota and Laforet Harajuku, stage visuals for live concerts, and art direction for the NHK Drama Serial “Hiyokko” and NHK Drama “Silent Poor”. Shimizu produced his own solo exhibition presenting his original collage art pieces and has also been invited to workshops all over the country. He won a prize as part of a team at the PRIX JEUNESSE 2016, a world famous children's program award.
