Ozawa Satoru was born February 3, 1936 in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, Japan and lives currently in Hakodate, Hokkaido. He is a mangaka best known for creating several series centered around submarines, a first in the manga world, including his 1963 debut work Submarine 707 and Blue Submarine No.6 another series he created in the 60s, which both were adapted into anime.
