Rie Matsumoto

She rose to prominence as one of the youngest anime directors and one of the few female directors in the industry.

She made her debut in the industry in 2006, working as an assistant episode director on Futari wa Precure: Splash Star. In 2010, she directed the film Heartcatch Precure! Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show... Desu ka!?, her first work as head director. A few years later she directed Kyousougiga, which was well received. More recently, her direction of 2015's Blood Blockade Battlefront earned her praise.
