Graduated from the Department of Graphic Design, Tama Art University in 2001. Currently belongs to Robot. Osamu Sakai is mainly involved in planning and direction of animation, as well as picture books, illustrations, character design, and art. He is also a designer. He has also created many animations for children, and his song "PoPoPoLoouise" is one of the most popular songs on NHK. Winner of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival 2009 Best Television Award.
