
Mitsuyasu Sakai
Birthplace: Osaka Prefecture, Japan
Mitsuyasu Sakai is a Japanese critic, translator and science fiction writer.
Sakai graduated from Mikunigaoka High School, and he holds a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from Kansai University. After working at NTT as an A.I. researcher, he became a sci-fi novel writer and translator. He also started handling scripts and sci-fi related work on anime. In 2018, he crowdfunded the production of a live-action film and managed to fund 19 million yen, which is the highest film production crowdfunding ever achieved in Japan. In 2021, he produced, directed and wrote a short film, title "Orbital Christmas." A novelization of the work was written by Haruna Ikezawa.
He holds a regular event on Live Wire called "Haruna Ikezawa & Miho Sakai's SF Anything Box" with aforementioend voice actress and essayist Haruna Ikezawa.
