Born in Tokyo in 1993, Acanthus Music Award recipient Mio Adachi is a graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts’ Department of Musical Creativity & Environment and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Musical and Sound Creativity.

Her current work includes composing concert works, movie soundtrack, environmental music, and so on. She has been particularly active in both composing music for Japanese traditional instruments like the koto and sho and collaborating with animation works. She has been collaborating with various genres of artists.

In 2016 she was accepted to participate in the Contemporary Computer Music Concert. A member of rhapsodie co., ltd.
