Began his career in the industry in the field of photography, working concurrently on commercials, until discovering his vocation after directing his first episode of Runway de Waratte.

In 2018, he started adopting the pseudonym Chihaya Tanaka in certain areas while using his real name in others, though he was previously known as “zeelch” on his Twitter account in 2016.
