iScream is a Japanese vocal and dance girl group under the talent agency LDH JAPAN. The trio consists of RUI, YUNA and HINATA — all of whom were contestants in LDH Presents THE GIRLS AUDITION held in 2018. In this audition featuring various divisions of the entertainment field, RUI became one of the winners under the vocal/dance category, while the other two were a part of the finalists. After the audition concluded, a training camp was held to asses the unsuccessful finalists for further three rounds. It was through this second selection process that YUNA and HINATA got chosen. The three girls came together to form the group iScream in 2019, but their debut got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally in June of 2021, they debuted with the EP "Maybe...YES."

Although "iScream" appears to be a very much English sounding name, it's actually a wordplay that makes use of both English and Japanese languages. The "i" in iScream not only means oneself, it's also a play on the Japanese word for love, 愛 (ai). The name alludes to "scream love" or 愛を叫ぶ (ai wo sakebu), making them known to the Japanese audience also as アイサケ (AiSake) for short.

Prior to joining iScream, all the three girls attended LDH's performing arts school, EXPG. RUI and YUNA were also members of the EXPG Lab's project group KIZZY, while HINATA hoped that the audition would earn her the opportunity to get into the group, as she didn't even think she'd make it that far in the first place. With their backgrounds as EXPG students, the three of them excel at both singing and dancing. But their strength most definitely lies in their strong vocals. iScream's forte is singing a cappella, which is considered to be a highlight of the group.
