Akira Miyagawa is a Japanese composer, arranger, music director and pianist. Born in Tokyo, he is the son of famous composer Hiroshi Miyagawa.

He made his debut as a composer on shows at Tokyo Disney Land and Shiki Theatre Company. His motto is "Concerts are entertainments". Performing his concerts in all over Japan, he composed and appeared in many TV shows for NHK. He is also active in other range of fields such as animation, films, and television dramas.

In 2012, he composed and recreated the original score by his father for the remake of Space Battleship Yamato, as well as its sequels.
