Rachel Lynde

At 18 years old, she married Thomas Lynde. They had twelve children together prior to the beginning of the story. She is an avid gossiper - Anne stating <i>"If you went to your own room at midnight, locked the door, pulled down the blind, and sneezed, Mrs. Lynde would ask you the next day how your cold was!"<i/>
