A regular customer at the Iori Hobby Shop, whose passion for anything related to the Gundam universe is as powerful as the winds of war. Ral is a seasoned Gunpla battler, whose fighting style focuses on guerrilla tactics, and acts as a valuable advisor for Sei and Reiji. He is quite knowledgeable in Gunpla technology, which in turn makes people turn to him whenever they have any question regarding Gunplas or the Gundam universe. He has taken a fancy to Iori Sei's mother, Rinko, and is a fan of the Gunpla-sponsered pop idol, Kirara.

Veteran Gundam fans recognize Ral's power and address him as "Lieutenant Ral” or “The Blue Giant.” His fame even reaches out to criminals and has a rehabilitating power. This fame however doesn’t come without a dark and unknown origin, as he is aware of a figure part of an underground Gunpla mafia.

He is a parody of Ramba Ral, a character from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.
