Miya Chinen

Miya Chinen is a character in the SK8 the Infinity anime series who is an elite middle school student and candidate for Japan's national team. Miya is seen as a carefree boy. He is interested in skating, but not portrayed as obsessed like some of his competitors in "S," an underground and dangerous skateboard race at an abandoned mine.

As a child Miya loved skating and had fun with it. As he grew up, he began improving and received awards for it. However, this lead to his friends assuming that he saw them as "sidekicks" and looked down on them. Furthermore, this resulted in Miya losing his friends, eventually bringing about his negative outlook towards friendship as a whole.
