Kunoichi

Kunoichi is an original character created for the Samurai Warriors series. She serves as Yukimura Sanada's ninja bodyguard, and is sometimes shown to hold some sort of romantic interest in him.

Kunoichi contrasts the other ninja characters in the Samurai Warriors series by often teasing and being playful with her enemies. She does not care for the traditions of her profession and, in the Japanese version, often adds nonsensical words, such as "Nyaha~" or "Ururu", into her speech.

It is said in the game series that Kunoichi was raised by Shingen Takeda, who found the young girl orphaned because of a battle he was engaged in, and fights as part of the Takeda Army in order to repay him. In the anime series it is instead shown that a young Yukimura Sanada found her, though it is implied that Takeda still raised her in some capacity.

Though "kunoichi" is a term for female ninja, the Warriors Orochi games prove that it is indeed her name, as she is explicitly referred by the name by other characters.
